TexTESOL III is the TESOL Regional Affiliate for the Austin/Waco area of Central Texas. We hold four or more meetings annually and accept paid memberships extended to professionals in the Teaching English as a Second Language, ESL, EFL, Bilingual Education, and related fields. TexTESOL III is a non-profit organization whose mission is to collaborate with our fellow TexTESOL Affiliates to support best practices in teaching and to promote the exchange of information and cooperation among the various stakeholders involved in the multi-faceted realm of ESL & Bilingual education in Texas. We advocate for the rights of ELLs in Texas and send our Advocacy Chair to the TESOL Advocacy and Policy Summit annually.
As an affiliate of TESOL, TexTESOL III is called upon annually to represent our region at the TESOL convention, where we meet and talk with other affiliates from all over the world at the Affiliate Leadership Workshop as well as the Affiliate Assembly; we are called upon to vote in TESOL elections and deliberate on issues that affect the whole profession, particularly advocacy. We also meet twice a year with fellow TexTESOL Affiliate leaders (textesol.org) to discuss state-wide issues as well as the future of our respective affiliates. TexTESOL III will continue to work hard for its members and the ESL community here in Central Texas, and we are thankful for those who help support us in our mission.
